Heart Attacks

Those especially sensitive to carbon monoxide poisoning include fetuses, infants, and people who have anemia, heart or lung diseases, or a high rate of metabolism (caused by certain conditions such as hyperthyroidism). High levels of carbon monoxide in the blood can cause angina attacks or increase the severity of the attacks. A direct link has been found between carbon monoxide poisoning and symptoms of heart disease, angina, and heart attacks.
